Two men have been charged in connection with a robbery on Redcar High Street.

Redcar and Cleveland CID have charged two men in connection with the robbery which happened on Monday.

The men, aged 28 and 19, were both arrested and charged with robbery and they were remanded in custody to appear at Teesside Magistrates' Court yesterday morning.

Police in Middlesbrough have arrested two males on suspicion of drugs offences.

A 17-year-old male was arrested on Park Vale Road around 5pm on Tuesday after officers believed he was acting suspiciously and searched him.

A quantity of suspected cocaine was recovered and the male was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. He was later bailed whilst enquiries continue.

A second man, aged 24, was also suspected of behaving suspiciously on Esk Street in North Ormesby around 6:30pm.

The man was allegedly found in possession of suspected crack cocaine, cash and a mobile phone.

The man is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court yesterday, charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of criminal property.

Redcar Coastguard Rescue Team helicopter made a landing at James Cook University Hospital after a person was injured offshore.

All exits of the hospital were closed off to traffic and Marton Road was temporarily shut on Tuesday evening after Redcar Coastguard Rescue Team responded to an incident on an offshore vessel.

The team was tasked to James Cook to man the helicopter landing site for inbound rescue 912 with a casualty from an offshore vessel.

Once the patient was handed over to hospital rescue 912 left the site and headed back to base the team was stood down.

Members of the public are reminded that should you see anyone in trouble on or near the coast you should dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.
