Police are appealing for witnesses after a report of a robbery in Normanby. 

The incident happened between 7.40am and 7.50am on Tuesday, when a man was reported to have entered the Premier Shop on Normanby High Street with an object described as a knife and then demanded money.

The man reportedly left the store with cash and a quantity of cigarettes and alcohol.

He made off in the direction of Cleveland Street. 

The man is described as being around 6 feet 1 inches tall. He was wearing a black/brown jacket, black Adidas trainers, blue gloves and a grey face covering, described as a balaclava. 

Anyone with information is asked to contact Redcar CID on the non-emergency number 101.

 

Officers are appealing for information after an attempted burglary in Redcar.

The incident occurred at a property on Cranbourne Drive in the town at around 1am yesterday morning.

Four suspects are believed to have been in the area on foot, and they may have left in a dark coloured hatchback vehicle.

Members of the public in the area around Cranbourne Drive are asked to check private CCTV for any footage of the suspects and report any suspicious activity around this time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Redcar and Cleveland CID on 101.

 

Police are reminding residents to take precautions to help prevent keyless entry car thefts after a number of recent incidents reported to Cleveland Police.

Reports were received of Land Rovers being stolen overnight on Sunday 27th and Monday 28th February in Ormesby and Nunthorpe and a third vehicle, a Range Rover, was reported stolen the previous week on Sunday 20th February in Ormesby. 

All three of the vehicles were taken without keys.

Anyone with information regarding the theft of the vehicles is asked to call police on the non-emergency number 101.
