Entries for the popular Lemon Top Relay, which is taking place this summer on Redcar beach, are now open.

The event, on Saturday 18 July, is welcoming families and friends to take part in the relay which requires all teams to be in a group of four. 

Winners of the relay race will win a free Lemon Top ice cream and will take home the 2015 trophy.  

In addition to the race, free sports and games will be taking place on the beach, as well as donkey rides. 

Cllr Carl Quartermain, cabinet member for jobs, skills and leisure at Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council said:

“The Lemon Top Relay is going to be a great day of fun for everyone.

“The popularity of this event is growing, and we’re so pleased to be hosting events like this which brings families and friends together on Redcar beach.” 

The race, which is suitable for all ages, begins at 2pm at Dundas Slipway near Redcar Beacon. Activities will finish at 4pm.
