A 78-year-old man who was involved in a collision on Brotton Road, Carlin How, has sadly passed away in hospital.

Brian Metherell, from Carlin How, was a pedestrian involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Zafira on Friday 13th February at 7.25pm.

He was taken to James Cook University Hospital, however, he sadly died seven days later on the evening of Friday 20th February. 

An investigation is continuing into the collision and officers would again appeal for any witnesses to come forward and speak to them.

Any witnesses are asked to contact PC Martin Tranmer from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting event number 24961.
