A man in his 30's has been questioned in connection with a knifepoint robbery reported by staff at the Subway store at Low Grange Farm in Eston.

A number of officers, including the dog section and the national police air support, attended the Trunk Road area following a report of a robbery at the store in Low Grange Farm yesterday evening.

No-one was injured during the incident which took place at around 6.50pm.

Searches for suspects, who were reported to have been armed with bladed weapons and to have escaped with an amount of cash, took place and investigations are ongoing.  

The first suspect is described as male, wearing a light grey hooded top, and bottoms.  The second was also male, wearing a dark top and dark bottoms.  Both men had their faces covered with balaclavas.

Following questioning by detectives, the man has subsequently been released on bail. Police are still urging anyone with information to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101 - or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
