Police are appealing for information after a 15-year-old boy suffered serious facial injuries after being hit with a stone which was thrown through a bus window.

The incident happened at around 9.45pm last night, Sunday 26th October, as the bus travelled towards Normanby on the Trunk Road in Grangetown, next to Eston sports ground.

A male wearing a blue hooded top threw a stone at the bus window, smashing the window and injuring the 15-year-old passenger. He was taken to James Cook University Hospital where he remains today. He is currently described as being in a ‘stable’ condition.

The same male also threw a stone at a passing car, causing damage to that vehicle.

Anyone with information with regards to the male responsible or anyone who may have witnessed the incidents are asked to contact PC Patricia Harland on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
