Two women have been charged after a warrant was carried out in the Hemlington area on Monday;
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council have issued an update after a whale was washed up on Redcar beach;
...and a main road in our area which has been closed since before the weekend has reopened this morning.
Two women have been charged after a warrant was carried out in the Hemlington area on Monday.
Neighbourhood Team officers attended Edgeworth Court and carried out the warrant, where a quantity of suspected class A drugs were recovered.
Two women aged 51 and 57 were arrested and later charged with possession of class A drugs.
Both women are due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court later this month.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council have issued an update after a whale was washed up on Redcar beach.
Posting on social media, the council says that they are aware that the body of the whale still currently remains on the beach.
The council says it has been liaising with the Maritime and Coastguard Agency in order to find the best way to remove the creature from the beach.
If the whale is not taken out to sea by the high tide, the council says it will be attempting an alternative method of removing the whale.
In the meantime, members of the public are asked to stay away from the whale for safety reasons.
A main road in our area which has been closed since before the weekend has reopened this morning.
Northumbrian Water has confirmed the damage to the A174 caused by a burst water pipe in Carlin How has now been repaired and all works were completed yesterday.
The road closure and diversion which has been in place since last Thursday was removed at 6am this morning.
Traffic is now able to use the route as normal.
Members of the public have been thanked for their patience whilst the works have been taking place.
