Police are appealing for information after the discovery of a cannabis drying operation in former care home in Redcar.

Redcar's neighbourhood officers discovered a large amount of cannabis which was being dried out in the former Sea View care home on Newcomen Terrace in the town on Friday.

Two men aged 42 and 46 were arrested and questioned on suspicion of being concerned in the production of a Class B drug; both have been bailed while further enquiries take place.

Anyone who has seen or captured on dashcam, doorbell or private CCTV any suspicious activity in and around the former Seaview Nursing home, or who has other information to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.

Officers are appealing for information following the seizure of a motorbike in Redcar.

On Thursday officers from the proactive team observed a black motorcycle travelling in the town.

The rider – who was wearing a helmet – was also carrying two passengers with their faces covered with a balaclava.

A short while later the motorbike was recovered on Ormesby Bank but the riders fled.

Anyone with information relating to who the drivers are is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council has thanked local residents who attended an event to recruit potential foster carers in our area.

The council says it was delighted to welcome residents who took the opportunity to meet foster carers and the council's foster care team at the event at Kirkleatham Walled Garden on Friday.

The event was part of a drive to recruit more local foster carers in the area, and to provide anyone thinking about becoming a foster carer with the opportunity to find out more about fostering from existing foster carers and the fostering team over a slice of cake and a coffee.

If you think you can make a difference to the life of a young person but couldn’t make it to Friday's event, you can contact the fostering team on 01642 444087.
