A closure order has been granted at a flat in Guisborough after reports of antisocial behaviour at the property.

Officers from Guisborough Neighbourhood Policing Team, working closely with Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council's Anti-Social Behaviour Team and with supporting evidence from Beyond Housing, successfully secured a closure order on the flat on Friday.

Cleveland Police and the housing provider had received numerous complaints about antisocial behaviour in and around the property in Helmsley House, with reports of people coming and going at all times of the day and night, drug misuse and people drinking alcohol in communal areas then causing a nuisance.

There were also reports of fighting, weapons being present, noise nuisance, people's doors being kicked and fire alarms being activated deliberately.

Police have issued an appeal after a teenage boy was assaulted in Middlesbrough.

Just before quarter to six on Sunday evening, officers received a report that a teenage boy was unconscious in Worcester Street in the town after being assaulted by a large group of unknown males.

An ambulance attended and the 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital where he received treatment for what are currently believed to be non life-threatening injuries.

Enquiries are continuing and Cleveland Police are appealing for anyone with information, doorbell, dashcam or private CCTV footage to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council are asking residents for their views on plans to transform Eston Precinct.

Residents of Greater Eston are being invited to a public consultation event where they will be able to meet with representatives of the Council, ask any questions, and provide feedback on the plans.

Comments and suggestions are most welcome, particularly if there are local issues or ideas that you would like to be considered before the council finalises the proposal and submit the planning application.

The consultation event is being held at Christ Church, on the High Street in Eston, next Thursday 19 September between 3pm and 8pm.
