Police are asking members of the public to report suspicious activity after three males were reported to have been trying car door handles and looking around vehicles in the Salcombe Way area of Redcar.

The men were believed to have been in the area between 2am and 2:40am on Friday 13th September.

They are described as being aged in their early to mid-twenties, wearing dark clothing, two are white male and one was wearing a balaclava. All are believed to be 5ft 6” to 5ft 8” tall.

Officers would ask anyone to report suspicious activity by calling Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.

A man will appear in court later today charged with rape following a reported incident in Albert Park last week.

The 30-year-old man was arrested on Saturday and has been detained in police custody until he appears at Teesside Magistrates' Court later.

This follows enquiries by Middlesbrough CID into a report of an incident in Albert Park in the town in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

A woman is being supported by specially trained officers.

Anyone who may have information, CCTV or dash cam footage that could assist police with their investigation is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101.

The volunteers of the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team have been called into action in our area.

Just before 10.30pm on Friday the team received a request from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust to assist one of their crews with the extraction of a male casualty, not far from Captains Cook’s Monument.

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance crew was also in attendance.

Once the casualty had been dealt with by the medical staff, he was lifted onto a rescue stretcher and secured him within a casualty bag to warm him up.

He was then carried and wheeled on the stretcher for approximately 350-metres down a narrow path lined with thick gorse and bracken.

On reaching Gribdale Gate carpark he was then transferred to a waiting ambulance.
