Police are reminding members of the public to remain vigilant after several incidents of thefts from motor vehicles in the Marton Road area Middlesbrough.

There have been several reports of breaks to vehicles in recent weeks, and neighbourhood teams are carrying out regular patrols and are linking in with local businesses in the area, along with reminding members of the public to be vigilant.

Officers would advise people not to leave items on show such as loose change, sunglasses and satellite navigation systems, which could be attractive to opportunist thieves.

Keeping doors and windows secure can also deter those who want to commit crime.

Cleveland Police would appeal to with information to contact them by calling 101.

The same day, Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Policing Team also made an arrest of a 16-year-old boy in connection with a reported incident of driving in a dangerous manner on Cass House Road in Hemlington, which reportedly took place on Monday.

The boy has now been charged with driving a vehicle without due care and attention, no insurance, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and failing to wear protective headgear.
