Police have seized two motorbikes following targeted patrols in the Eston and Normanby areas.

During patrols on Monday, officers from Redcar and Cleveland’s Proactive Team spotted a green off-road bike which reportedly was driven illegally with no insurance on the A174 and then onto Eston Hills.

Officers caught up with the rider on Eston Hills and the bike was seized.

A red motorbike was also recovered near Flatts Lane in Eston after it had been observed being driven with no insurance and no licence.

Anyone with information about off-road vehicles can call police on the non-emergency number 101.

Two men have been arrested after a suspected stolen vehicle made off from police.

In the early hours of Monday morning, Matrix team officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Maldon Road, Middlesbrough, which made off.

Officers believed the vehicle was stolen and the black Toyota MPV was followed to Marton Road where a stinger was used to help bring it to a stop.

The occupants made off from the vehicle, running from officers, but two males were detained a short time later.

A BMW motorcycle was also located at the scene where the Toyota failed to stop and subsequent checks revealed it was also reported stolen from a burglary.

Two men aged 18 and 39 remain were taken into police custody whilst enquiries continue.
