A closure order has been granted at a property in Middlesbrough following reported drug dealing and violence.

Since 29th June, officers received 18 reports relating to crime, nuisance and disorder at the address on Monkland Close.

A woman living at the property was reportedly involved in criminality and drugs supply.

There were also reports of drug dealing through a window and a strong smell of cannabis coming from the address.

A drugs warrant was carried out on Saturday 20th July by officers, however, the complaints continued.

On Thursday this week, Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Team officers were granted a closure order by Magistrates, allowing them to close the address for a period of at least three months.

Officers attended the address the same day to board up the property.

Motorists are being advised to be vigilant when paying for parking after reports of a parking scam which happened in Saltburn.

QR codes were attached near to the Pay and Display related signage, including Ringo signs and machines, in several car parks.

This QR code takes people to an online scam payment page.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council say that none of the Pay and Display locations have a QR code on them and if you see one, do not scan it, instead please report it by calling 01642 774 774.

You should always check that a website is legitimate before sharing any payment details or personal information.

It's been announced that a road closure in our area which was expected to continue for the next fortnight will be coming to an end early.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council says that the lane closure on Station Road in Loftus will come to an end sooner than expected.

The council had anticipated that the traffic management would be needed for two more weeks, however the works to help bring about the Northumbrian Water connection for the brand-new Employment and Skills Hub have been completed ahead of schedule.

The council has thanked the contractors Brims and Anwen for achieving this and also thanked Loftus residents for being so patient.
