A man from Middlesbrough has appeared in court charged in connection with the supply of class A drugs.
The 36-year-old man of Roman Road was stopped in a vehicle on Newport Road at around midday on Wednesday.
He was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine and crack cocaine.
After being transported to police custody to be questioned he was subsequently charged and remanded.
He appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court yesterday.
A suspected dangerous driver has been charged in connection with a targeted assault outside pub in Middlesbrough.
The 22-year-old, of Central Avenue, was arrested by detectives on Monday and taken into police custody for questioning.
In the early hours of Wednesday he was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and dangerous driving.
He appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court on Wednesday where he was remanded until his appearance at Teesside Crown Court on Thursday 18th July.
The charges relate to a man who is suspected of driving dangerously to cause harm to a group of people outside The Green Tree pub on Gilkes Street on Sunday evening.
One woman sustained serious injuries to her leg and has since been discharged from hospital.
The global mining giant behind the Woodsmith Project in North Yorkshire and Teesside has confirmed that jobs are to be lost on the scheme.
Following news earlier this year that investment in the multibillion pound mine scheme is to be cut, Anglo American says it is in a consultation period about proposed changes.
It says that it will reduce its own workforce by around 50% over the next year, meaning 160 jobs are to go.
However it has also been reported that many more jobs within the contractor supply chain could also be at risk.
The Woodsmith Project includes the 37km tunnel that will eventually connect the mine site, near Whitby, with a processing and export facility at Redcar.
Earlier this year Anglo said it had completed 27.5km of the tunnel, which is due to host a conveyor system that will take the polyhalite fertiliser brought up from underneath the North York Moors to Teesside.
