Residents of a street at the scene of a house explosion in Berwick Hills yesterday have now been able to return to their homes.
In an update released yesterday evening, police say that the cordon around the house at the scene of the explosion has been reduced and residents of Ettington Avenue and Frampton Green are now able to return to their homes.
Residents of the affected houses remain evacuated and alternative arrangements are in place.
The roads in the area have now reopened, but the area around the site of the explosion remains cordoned off due to the structural danger posed by the damaged building.
A 57-year-old man was taken by air ambulance to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle with serious burn injuries.
Officers from Cleveland Police have continued to patrol the area overnight, and investigations are ongoing.
Members of the public have been thanked for their patience whilst the area was made safe.
Anyone with CCTV or doorbell footage of the incident is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.
Police are carrying out enquiries after reports of a "mass brawl" at Middlesbrough bus station.
Pictures from the scene appear to show the disturbance taking place in the middle of the station bus parking area.
The incident happened on Friday afternoon.
A witness at the scene said that it "started with two lads fighting, then loads more joined in".
Those involved left the scene prior to police arrival.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: "We received reports of an altercation at Middlesbrough bus station at around 3.40pm on Friday, June 14. Enquiries are currently ongoing. Anyone with information should contact us on 101."
Motorists in Middlesbrough faced traffic chaos on Tuesday after a collision closed a busy road.
Marton Road in Middlesbrough was closed by Cleveland Police between Ladgate Lane at Marton Crossroads and Regent Road following a single vehicle collision which happened at around 1.10pm.
Traffic was being diverted through Easterside from Marton Road.
The road was reopened shortly after 5.00pm.
Cleveland Police thanked motorists and residents affected whilst emergency services dealt with the incident and officers carried out initial post-collision investigation work.
