Cleveland Police is appealing for witnesses and any information following an altercation in Middlesbrough.
Officers were called to Valley Road, Middlesbrough, at around ten past four on Thursday.
A man suffered stab wounds and was taken to hospital where he currently remains.
His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Enquiries are ongoing.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a three-vehicle collision which left a 72-year-old woman with a broken arm.
The incident occurred on Ladgate Lane in Middlesbrough at 5pm on Thursday.
A silver Toyota Corolla taxi travelling east on Ladgate Lane collided with a silver Chevrolet Aveo and a silver Mercedes E Class travelling west.
A 72-year-old woman who was a passenger in the rear of the taxi sustained broken arm and was taken to James Cook University Hospital and released following treatment.
The 64-year-old driver of the taxi was arrested at the scene on suspicion of failure to provide a specimen, causing serious injury by careless driving and driving whilst unfit.
The drivers of the other vehicles were not seriously injured.
Redcar’s Proactive Policing Team have been busy tackling issues raised by the community about motorbikes being driven dangerously in the local area.
During a day of action on Wednesday, officers conducted patrols around the Dormanstown area of Redcar and carried out a number of stop searches.
Two suspected stolen motorbikes were recovered and enquiries are currently ongoing. Officers were assisted on the day by partner agencies.
An 18-year-old man who was wanted in connection with a number of offences including an affray was also arrested by officers.
The Proactive Team say thay they will continue to act on intelligence and tackle the issues that cause the most harm to our communities.
