They also arrested a 41-year-old woman who was wanted on warrant in relation to an alleged incident of criminal damage.

A major road in our area had to be closed yesterday afternoon.

Just after ten past three yesterday afternoon, the A19 Southbound was closed due to a crash near to Stockton.

Cleveland Police closed the major route after an incident at the A1046 Haverton Hill Road Portrack Interchange.

The incident caused major issues for motorists, with reports of delays of 50 mins and roughly three miles of congestion.

The road was reopened at around 4.30pm. Details of the incident or any injuries have not yet been released.

The volunteer crew of the Redcar RNLI lifeboat have been called into action in our area.

Just before 6.30 yesterday evening the Redcar Atlantic 85 lifeboat was launched in reponse to a report of a dog that was trapped on the River Tees.

The report indicated that the dog was trapped close to the Teesaurus dinosaur park in Middlesbrough.

The volunteer lifeboat crew arrived in the area and located the dog.

They then returned with the dog to the boathouse in Redcar.
