A woman from Redcar has denied a charge of intentional strangulation when she appeared before Teesside Crown Court;

A teenager is due at court today after an arrest by the Police Proactive Team in North Ormesby;

...and two men have been charged in connection with an alleged incident in Middlesbrough.

 

A woman from Redcar has denied a charge of intentional strangulation when she appeared before Teesside Crown Court.

32-year-old Jade Orton, of Roseberry Road in Redcar, faced three charges relating to an incident which is alleged to have taken place on March 15th last year.

These were intentional strangulation, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage to a door.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to all three offences and was bailed to appear back before the court on April 9 next year for a trial hearing.

 

A teenager is due at court today after an arrest by the Police Proactive Team in North Ormesby.

Two males were detained by officers from the team after they allegedly witnessed suspicious activity near an alley gate on Sadberge Street in North Ormesby on Saturday evening.

A 17-year-old boy was stopped and searched, then arrested for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs after dozens of deals of crack cocaine, cash and phones were recovered.

A 49-year-old man was also detained and arrested on suspicion of obstructing police. 

He was further arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs after officers recovered an amount of crack cocaine.

He was interviewed and bailed pending further enquiries, whilst the 17-year-old was charged and remanded to appear at Teesside Magistrates' Court this morning.

 

Two men have been charged in connection with an alleged incident in Middlesbrough.

Police were called shortly before 1am on Saturday to reports of a violent disturbance outside Bar Cuda on Albert Road and the two men were arrested.

A 31-year-old man was charged with possession of a Class A drug, affray and with threatening a person with a pointed or bladed article.

The 36-year-old man was charged with affray.

Both have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court today.
