Three people have been arrested after an incident at a bus stop in Redcar.
Officers were called to the town's High Street at around 7.30pm on Sunday after receiving a report of a man causing a disturbance and allegedly threatening two women.
The incident then moved onto Redcar Lane.
Cleveland Police has now confirmed that a 52-year-old man and two women, aged 24 and 27 were arrested at the scene.
The 24-year-old woman was subsequently charged with assaulting an emergency worker and was due to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Meanwhile, the other woman was charged with obstructing police and is to attend court later this month - as is the man, who was charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker.
A teenager has appeared in court charged with multiple offences after he was stopped by police on patrol in North Ormesby.
The 19-year-old was stopped by officers on patrol at around 3:30pm on Saturday afternoon on Jubilee Street South in North Ormesby.
He has been charged with possession with intent to supply heroin, possession of a bladed article, racially aggravated public order, racially aggravated assault and two counts of assaulting an emergency worker.
He appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court yesterday.
A new solar energy farm south of Redcar and the A174 has been granted planning permission despite concerns over its impact on so-called heritage assets.
Members of Redcar and Cleveland Council’s regulatory committee went against a planning officer’s recommendation to refuse the plans by EDF Renewables UK at a location near to Yearby village.
The officer’s report had concluded that the proposed development was a harmful imposition upon the agricultural landscape, which constituted the setting of nearby conservation areas in historic Kirkleatham and Yearby, along with two listed farmsteads in the vicinity.
The development, which will be adjacent to the crematorium and memorial park at Kirkleatham, will feature an array of ground mounted three metre high solar photovoltaic panels, and will be accessed via a new entrance being created off Fishponds Road and the B1269.
It will also include up to a hundred CCTV cameras mounted on four metre high poles and be surrounded by 2.4 metre high fencing around its perimeter.
