A cordon was erected on Redcar beach after a bomb scare yesterday.
Officers were called to the area close to the Paddling Pool Play Area, following the discovery of what was suspected to be an explosive device by a member of the public yesterday morning.
Late yesterday afternoon Explosive Ordnance Disposal officers assessed the object and deemed it to be safe.
The cordon was then lifted a short time later and the area re-opened.
Officers have thanked the public for their patience.
Drugs, weapons and stolen bikes have been seized after a two-day proactive operation in Greater Eston.
The operation saw suspected drugs including cocaine, illegal weapons, stolen motorbikes and a so-called community vehicle seized - as well as a number of arrests.
Officers also removed several burnt-out vehicles they came across to improve the environment and remove any risk to local people.
Operation Accrington took place over Thursday and Friday and was designed to proactively target those suspected of criminal activity, and it was also in response to information received from the public.
Members of the public are reminded that you can report crime and anti-social behaviour at any time to Cleveland Police online via their website, or by calling the non-emergency number 101.

Toilets at a brand new facility in Redcar have been opened to the public.
The Coastal Activity Hub on Redcar’s seafront is currently in the last stage of construction.
Yesterday the toilets at the facility were opened to the public.
There are four male, four female and two accessible toilets, and anyone can use them, even if you’re just passing by.
The rest of the facility will still be closed while the operator fits out the container buildings and the final touches are made until the expected opening day at Easter.
