Cleveland Police have issued a warning to nuisance drivers as police and partners take action in Redcar.

Officers took action against nuisance driving and anti-social behaviour in the town’s Majuba Car Park- an area which has seen problems for many years.

NPT officers encouraged fed up local residents to report every single incident and they also worked with the local authority, CCTV operators and Enforcement Officers to gather evidence so police could take enforcement action.

Drivers were caught on camera doing donuts and noisy wheelspins, racing, colliding, and even using their vehicles in a tug of war.

They’ve now been dealt with for driving offences and for breaching the Public Space Protection Order.

Some were issued Section 59 notices which last 12 months and apply to the driver and the vehicle - and vehicles can be seized if drivers re-offend.

Police are appealing for the return of a sentimental necklace which was stolen from a car in Middlesbrough overnight between Thursday 18 and Friday 19 January.

Thieves broke into the Ford Puma in the Thorntree area of Middlesbrough, stealing a distinctive silver locket, containing the ashes of the victim’s late mother.

Anyone who might have information on this theft, or who may have been offered the necklace for sale, is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.

It's been announced that a new ‘Changing Places Toilet’ will open at Skinningrove beach, adjacent to the existing public toilets, next week.

Standard accessible toilets meet the needs of some disabled people – but not all.

Over 250,000 people in the UK need personal assistance to use the toilet or change continence pads, including people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, spinal injuries and people living with stroke.

Changing Places toilets offer larger facilities that have the right equipment, including a changing bench and a hoist, designed to support disabled people who need assistance.

Anyone with a ‘Radar’ key issued to people with disabilities will be able to access the facility.

The location selection has been possible with the support of Loftus Town Council who will be looking after the facility, and with all funding provided by the Changing Places Fund.
