Police have provided an update as they continue to investigate a report of serious violent disorder in Hemlington;

...and a woman has been arrested after police conducted a drugs warrant in Middlesbrough.

 

The volunteers of the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team have been called into action in our area to assist an injured woman.

The team were contacted yesterday afternoon by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust regarding a woman who had fallen and sustained an ankle injury, and was unable to stand, whilst walking with a friend on the Cleveland Way between Staithes and Port Mulgrave.

One of the Team Doctors was nearby so he made his way to assess the situation.

The casualty was assisted by other people to a nearby farm, and from there she was transported to James Cook University Hospital for treatment.

 

Police have provided an update as they continue to investigate a report of serious violent disorder in Hemlington.

The incident occurred on Sunday 26th November and resulted in one Cleveland Police officer suffering a serious hand injury, which required surgery, and facial injuries.

A 33-year-old man has since been arrested and charged with wounding with intent to resist/prevent arrest, affray and criminal damage. He appeared in court today (Monday 4th December) and he was remanded in custody.

A 19-year-old man was charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, affray and breach of a criminal behaviour order and he was remanded in custody to appear at court in January.

A 25-year-old man was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent to resist/prevent arrest and affray and he was remanded in custody to appear at court in January.

A 36-year-old man was charged with wounding with intent to resist/prevent arrest and affray and he was released on conditional bail.

Four others arrested in connection with the incident remain on police bail.

 

A woman has been arrested after police conducted a drugs warrant in Middlesbrough.

Officers searched an address on Parliament Road and recovered Class C drugs, drug paraphernalia and suspected stolen goods.

A 58-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class C drugs and she has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Police are asking anyone with information about drugs in our area to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.
