A woman's body has been found at Huntcliff at the weekend.

Officers from Cleveland Police were called to Huntcliff in Saltburn early on Saturday morning following a call from a member of the public.

Emergency services were on the scene from around 10.45am and members of the public were urged to avoid the area while emergency workers dealt with the incident.

The force has confirmed that the death is "not believed to be suspicious".

No further details have been released at the current time.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is seeking the views of the Saltburn community and visitors to the town on the proposed parking changes to Marine Parade in the town.

The proposals seek to not only improve parking arrangements but to also improve highway safety, by reducing speeds and ensuring there is sufficient road width available for users.

A survey has been created to capture people’s views alongside a web page which sets out the reasons as to why these proposals have been developed.  We have also prepared some accurate images to give people a better understanding of the proposals which you can see below.

The survey can be completed between 29th October and 21st November and is available via the Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council Facebook page.

A major road in our area is to close today for essential maintenance.

Redcar and Cleveland Council are imposing a full closure of the westbound carriageway of the A174 Lazenby Bypass from 9am today as works begin to "completely reconstruct" part of the road.

Works are taking place to repair previous damage to the road, with the council also undertaking other repairs during the closure.

The closure will be in place for 24 hours a day for 10 days, to ensure that the maintenance can take place safely. A diversion route will be put in during the works - with the council saying that "everything possible is being done to keep traffic moving."

The diversion route is Kirkleatham Lane to the junction with Trunk Rd, Trunk Rd for its full length to Westgate Roundabout, then on Greystones Road to Greystones Roundabout.
