Police have thanked communities across Redcar and Cleveland for providing information which has helped see numerous people arrested for house burglaries.

In the last 30 days, our area has seen a 22% reduction in these burglaries when compared with the same period last year and officers are urging the public to continue to tell us who is committing crime and where so they can take action against suspected offenders.

Officers work with intelligence and analyst colleagues to identify and gather information on the current top five targets for trending crimes, including house burglaries, so they can deal with suspects as a priority.

In just the last month, four male suspects have been charged with burglary and remanded.

Two men were charged in connection with multiple offences in the Guisborough area and are now in prison.

And another man, aged 23, was charged with aggravated burglary and he's being monitored while the case goes through the judicial process.

Additional plain clothed patrols are deployed to the areas which police have identified as most affected, and officers work with local partner agencies to monitor anyone who's been bailed to make sure they're keeping to any sanctions issued by the courts.

Cleveland Police are appealing for information and any witnesses after a motorbike was stolen from a car park in Coulby Newham.

The incident occurred between 1.15pm and 1.25pm last Sunday in the car park of B&M at the Parkway Centre.

It was reported that two white males, aged around 16-years-old and wearing face coverings, have approached a blue Yamaha TDM 900 and pushed it away towards the path at the rear of B&M.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council have apologised after garden waste collections did not take place in parts of our area yesterday.

Due to short term staff sickness resulting in a shortage of staff, and also catching up on yesterday's collections, some garden waste bins in Skelton have not been emptied.

The council is asking residents affected by this to put their garden waste bins back out for collection this morning.

The council has apologised for any inconvenience caused.
