Cleveland Police have made a number of arrests in our area as part of Operation Artemis which ran across the force area yesterday.

Incidents that were dealt with included a man who was arrested on Slater Road in Grangetown on suspicion of dangerous dog offences.

Another man was arrested in Attlee Road in Grangetown on suspicion of multiple shoplifting offences and breaching a criminal behaviour order.

A further man was arrested in Grangetown this morning on suspicion of assault, and a man and a woman were arrested in Middlesbrough on suspicion of Possession with Intent to Supply Class A Drugs after officers conducted a warrant at an address in The Close in Grove Hill.

Police have issued an appeal for information after reports of suspicious activity in Greater Eston area.

Shortly after 1am yesterday police received several reports of a male trying house and car doors in the Abbey Court, Ampleforth Avenue and surrounding areas of Greater Eston.

Anyone with doorbell, dashcam or CCTV footage is asked to get in touch with police on the non-emergency number 101.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council have apologised to residents after garden waste bins weren't emptied in parts of our area yesterday.

Due to short term staff sickness resulting in a shortage of staff, and also catching up on last week’s collections, some garden waste bins in Grangetown and Eston have not been emptied.

The council is asking residents affected by this take their bins back in and put them back out for collection this morning.

The council has apologised for any inconvenience this causes and thanked residents for their patience.
