Two people had to be taken to hospital after a two-car crash which closed a major road in our area at the weekend.
The A66 in Middlesbrough was closed in both directions on Saturday morning after a crash between two cars.
The incident happened at around 10am and saw police, paramedics and fire crews rush to the scene.
The Great North Air Ambulance also attended the scene, and two patients were taken to the James Cook University Hospital.
No further details with regard to their condition have been released.
Power cuts were reported in Guisborough last night after a van reportedly crashed into a telegraph pole.
Police, ambulance and fire crews attended the scene on Park Lane just before quarter past five yesterday evening.
The road was cordoned off by the fire brigade, with an ambulance also in attendance.
Power cuts were later reported in the area, with around 100 properties affected, although it is yet to be confirmed if these were linked to the collision.
The volunteers of the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team have been called into action in our area.
Shortly after midday yesterday the team were were asked by North Yorkshire Police to go to the assistance of a man who had badly injured his ankle whilst walking with a group near to Castleton.
A number of Team members were directed to the scene with three of them taking a Team Land Rover.
Casualty care was provided to the injured man and pain relief was administered.
Once the injured ankle had been stabilised within a vacuum splint, the casualty was put on the stretcher and carried approximately 150-metres to the roadside and then transferred to a waiting ambulance for onward treatment in hospital.
