Detectives have charged a man after a recent 2 in 1 burglary in our area.

Officers from Redcar CID arrested and charged a 49-year-old man in connection with a recent report of a burglary in Marske, where sentimental items and a Ford Kuga had been stolen.

The man was charged with burglary and taking a vehicle without the owner's consent and remanded to court.

An emergency road closure has had to be put in place on a busy main road in our area.

The closure, with a diversion in place, came into operation yesterday on West Dyke Road in Redcar due to a burst water main near to the Redcar Primary Care Hospital.

The closure will in place until Wednesday, subject to possible delays.

The works will be carried out by Northumbrian Water.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council have apologises for any inconvenience this might cause.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council have apologised to residents after a number of regular garden waste collections did not take place yesterday.

Due to staffing shortages the council was not been able to collect the garden waste bins in Loftus, Liverton Mines and Skelton.

Residents are asked to present their garden waste bin again first thing this morning for collection.

The council has apologised for any inconvenience caused and thank residents for their understanding.
