A road in our area was closed yesterday afternoon following a traffic incident.

Just before 5pm yesterday afternoon police closed Margrove Road in Boosbeck following the incident.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area.

Further details of the incident have not yet been released.

A landmark deal has been struck to use British Steel on one the world’s biggest offshore wind plants being built at Teesworks.

Steel work is being erected as major progress continues on the £450m SeAH Wind monopile manufacturing facility at South Bank.

The 800-metre-long building will be the world’s biggest monopile facility when complete and is the first of its kind in the UK.

The 40m high factory will annually produce up to 200 monopiles – which form the foundations of offshore wind turbines.

A new £100m-plus deal between SeAH, British Steel and Severfield has now been signed which will see steel from British Steel’s Teesside Beam Mill at Lackenby, near Redcar, used in the giant development.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council have added another disposal site for electrical items in our area.

Currently, around 75% of electrical goods that could be recycled end up in landfill.

To help residents easily dispose of their small electronics for free, the council has installed waste, electrical and electronic equipment banks across the borough where you can take anything from kettles to vape pens.

The most recent disposal bank is located at Marske United Football Club on Mount Pleasant Avenue in Marske.

You can find the bank closest to you by visiting the Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council website.
