Police are appealing for information and dash cam footage after six vehicles were left with smashed windscreens and dents after missiles were hurled from a footbridge over the A174.

The incidents occurred between 6 and 10pm on Bank Holiday Monday, with objects striking vehicles along the stretch of the A174 that passes under the overpass near Flatts Lane, the Ormesby Bank overbridge and the Stokesley Road overbridge.

Officers say a gang of youths was spotted on the bridge at the time of the incidents, and they are urging witnesses to come forward.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.

Emergency services were called a large fire at a premises close to Cargo Fleet Lane at the weekend.

The blaze broke out at premises off Tame Road, and firefighters used hose reel jets in a bid to extinguish it.

The fire broke out around 4.40pm on Saturday.

Five fire engines from several fire stations on Teesside attended the incident, with two from Grangetown, two from Middlesbrough and one from Redcar.

The building was 30 per cent fire damaged, with 100 per cent fire damage to a cabin.

Police are investigating and are viewing CCTV cameras to find out how the fire started.

A number of motorists in our area are being prosecuted after being found committing driving offences.

Over the recent Bank Holiday weekend, motorcycle officers from Cleveland Police Roads Policing Unit took part in an operation aimed at reducing serious and fatal collisions on our roads, particularly raising awareness of the most vulnerable road users on our roads, such as motorcyclists.

Amongst the offences detected were 58 speed offences on the Coast Road and A171 in Redcar and Cleveland, one driver using a mobile phone at the wheel, one driver with no licence and one with no insurance.

A section 59 warning was also issued for antisocial driving and two white line offences.

Several bikers were spoken with and given advice around using the correct equipment to help keep them safe.
