It's been confirmed that a woman has died after an incident involving a 'person in the water' off Majuba Road in Redcar on Wednesday evening;

...and a man has been charged with a number of offences after police executed a warrant in Middlesbrough.

 

Detectives are appealing for witnesses, CCTV and dash cam footage after an armed robbery in Eston yesterday evening.

The incident happened around 4:25pm at the Eston Convenience Store on Guisborough Street.

A suspect entered the store armed with weapons and threatened a male, aged in his forties, within the store.

The man suffered minor injuries which did not require hospital treatment.

The suspect then made off with a quantity of cash.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and he remains in police custody at this time.

Any witnesses who have not already spoken to police are asked to call the non-emergency number 101.

 

It's been confirmed that a woman has died after an incident involving a 'person in the water' off Majuba Road in Redcar on Wednesday evening.

Emergency services were called to the incident at 7.15pm on Wednesday after calls were made to police about a woman seen in the water.

Paramedics attended the scene, as well as the Great North Air Ambulance, and the woman was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough - however she was later pronounced dead.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said that their thoughts remain with the woman’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.

 

A man has been charged with a number of offences after police executed a warrant in Middlesbrough.

The warrant was executed at an address on Colleton Walk at 8.05am on Wednesday with assistance from Cleveland Police’s drug unit and dog unit.

A quantity of Class A and Class B drugs were recovered from the property, believed to be cocaine and cannabis, along with some cash.

The 22-year-old was arrested and charged a number of drugs offences.

He appeared at Teesside Magistrates’ Court yesterday morning where he was remanded in custody until his next court appearance.
