Officers are appealing for information and witnesses after a child was allegedly injured in an incident in a park in our area.

The incident happened in Lily Park on Oak Road in Redcar at around 3:30pm on Monday 19th June when an eight-year-old girl was playing on a scooter.

A man who is described as a white, of large build entered the park with two large white dogs believed to be bull terriers.

They were both on lime green leads.

The child then ran to her mother and said she had been bitten.

She had a small cut to her thigh with bruising.

Officers would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone who may have information regarding the identity of the man with the dogs to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.

A man has been arrested after drugs raid in Eston.

Officers seized a large quantity of cannabis from the address along with a significant amount of cash, weapons and firearms.

A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of criminal property.

Crowds of people who had come to the Redcar RNLI's flag day at the weekend ended up watching a real life incident.

At 1.13pm on Saturday, crews for the Atlantic 85 and the station's D class inshore lifeboat were tasked with a search operation, after four divers were reported missing near the wreck of the Dimitris a cargo ship that sank just off the Redcar coast in 1953.

The skipper of the dive boat had called Mayday after being unable to see the divers in the area they had been diving.

The lifeboats started a search in this area and found all four divers close to the area they had last been seen.

The crews were then able to return to shore.
