Police are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage after a man sadly died following a collision in Guisborough.

At around ten past eight on Friday officers were called to Middlesbrough Road following a single-vehicle collision involving a BMW 5-series.

37-year-old Kellam Hodgson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man, aged 35, was taken to James Cook University Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or have dash cam footage of the incident to get in touch with police on the non-emergency number 101.

The incident happened just after 10pm on Friday, near to the junction with Byland Road.

A white BMW 3 series M Sport collided with the pedestrian, leaving the 24-year-old with a broken shoulder, several breaks to his right arm, substantial facial injures and potentially a broken back.

He was taken to James Cook University Hospital where he is currently being treated in ICU for his injuries.

The BMW did not remain at the scene and was located by police shortly after the incident.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to call 101.

 

Two new bus services are set to be launched in our area.

Stagecoach will be introducing the new bus services 1 & 2 which will begin on Monday 10 July.

The supported bus service, funded by Tees Valley Combined Authority, will connect Brotton, Carlin How, Skelton, Lingdale, Liverton Mines, Loftus, Moorsholm (pron "moor-sum") and Skinningrove to East Cleveland Hospital, Saltburn Railway Station and Skelton Retail Park.
