Police are appealing for witnesses, dash cam, CCTV & door bell footage after a man substantially damaged a property with a chainsaw in Redcar.
The incident happened around 10am on Thursday on Kielder Close when a male approached the property on a small motorbike and used a chainsaw to attack the front door and windows, causing substantial damage.
The male, who was wearing dark clothing, then made off on the motorbike.
A woman aged in her twenties inside the address was fortunately unharmed, but was left shaken.
Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone who may have information or footage of the incident to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.
The Tees Valley Mayor and local council leaders have issued a statement after Arriva announced cuts to its bus services in our area.
The statement says that they hear the concerns raised by residents that will be affected by the recently announced Arriva service cuts, and that the Mayor and Leaders of the Councils have been working very closely together to understand what can be done to mitigate the impact of these cuts and consider a potential way forward.
The statement says that the Tees Valley Combined Authority and Local Councils are working in lockstep on this and looking at a range of potential options.
They go on to say that given the economic climate, there is no easy one-size-fits-all solution but they are all working extremely hard to find a way through this, and will continue to work closely with one another over the coming days.
Drivers are being reminded to store digital key fobs securely after a recent spate of keyless thefts of vehicles across Cleveland.
Predominantly the incidents happen between 10pm and 6am.
Ford Fiesta’s are one of the main cars stolen, with Range Rovers and other Ford vehicles also being targeted.
Whilst officers continue to gather intelligence and work to identify those responsible, we would remind drivers to keep taking steps to help protect their vehicles.
Officers are urging motorists to take all possible steps to protect their vehicles, including keeping your car key or fob (and any spare) well away from the car when you're at home.
