Officers are appealing after a man suffered a minor stab wound in Redcar.

Around 8:20pm on Wednesday, officers received a report of an altercation involving two groups, one group of two teenagers and one group of three adults, on Redcar beach close to the Redcar Beacon.

When police arrived a 42-year-old man had suffered a minor stab wound to his stomach, which did not require hospital treatment.

A 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and he has been bailed whilst enquiries continue.

Any witnesses are asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.

Work is due to begin on a new Eco House to show the possibilities for the future of household energy in our area.

The Sir William Turner Eco House is being built on the Redcar and Cleveland College site.

The Eco House demonstrates the potential of hydrogen energy to support government ambitions to tackle climate change by achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

It will provide the public with a glimpse into a potential home of the future fuelled by cleaner energy.

The Eco House is expected to be completed and open later in the summer.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council are encouraging residents in our area to recycle small electrical items.

Around 3 tonnes of electrical waste are collected in the council's small electrical disposal banks each month and are the best way of preventing fires in bin wagons caused by these items being incorrectly thrown away with other household waste.

The most recent disposal bank is located outside of the Laburnum Road Library where residents can safely dispose of small electrical items such as kettles, toasters and hairdryers.

Other disposal banks are located throughout the borough and you can find your nearest by visiting the Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council website.
