Cleveland Fire Brigade have issued a statement after one of their vehicles overturned whilst fighting a fire on Eston Hills;
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council have apologised after unforeseen circumstances meant that garden waste bins weren't collected in part of our area yesterday;
...and the new Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland, has been officially invested.
Cleveland Fire Brigade have issued a statement after one of their vehicles overturned whilst fighting a fire on Eston Hills.
Yesterday evening the brigade's off-road Unimog vehicle was on route to an emergency call on Eston Hills and overturned on its side.
No firefighters were injured during the incident and the vehicle has been recovered.
The brigade says that an internal investigation has commenced to determine the cause of the accident.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council have apologised after unforeseen circumstances meant that garden waste bins weren't collected in part of our area yesterday.
The council says it has not been able to collect the garden waste bins in parts of Marske, including:
- Churchills Estate
- Sherwood Drive Estate
- Barnes Wallis Estate
- Eastfields Estate Cleveland View
- St Marks Close
- Hall Close
- Dovecote Close
The crews will be out again today to collect these bins as soon as possible.
The council has thanked residents for their patience and understanding.
The new Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland, has been officially invested.
Cllr Malcom Head, who was re-elected to the West Dyke ward last month, and had previously been Deputy Mayor, will raise money for two charities: The Junction and Footprints in the Community.
The new Deputy Mayor is Cllr Neil Bendelow representing the South Bank ward.
