The volunteer crews of the Redcar RNLI lifeboat have been called into action in our area.

Just after quarter past six yesterday the Redcar D Class lifeboat was launched following reports that a quad bike and trailer were submerged.

There were also reports that a jet ski that was tied to the trailer was floating, with another jet ski drifting, about a quarter of a mile off shore.

The report also stated that there was a person in the water but this was not the case and no persons were involved.

The lifeboat and crew were able to return safely to the lifeboat station at Redcar.

A woman was taken to hospital following a multi-car collision in our area yesterday.

Police were called to the A174 eastbound carriageway yesterday morning at 8am after reports of a four-car crash near Greystones roundabout.

Police and paramedics descended on the scene and the road was closed for over an hour.

Three people were treated on the scene, one of whom was a woman who was taken to James Cook University Hospital to be treated for her injuries.

One lane remained closed while police carried out their investigation.

Police have recovered a stolen motorbike which was being ridden in our area.

Officers from Greater Eston Neighbourhood Policing Team recovered the motorbike which was recently reported as stolen from the Durham area.

The bike was recovered on Tuesday evening after two men were seen making off from the vehicle on Westminster Close in Middlesbrough.

Enquires are currently ongoing to identify both men.
