A knife surrender event has been held in Grangetown.
Officers from the Greater Eston Neighbourhood Policing Team held the event at Grangetown Library yesterday morning.
The event allowed members of the public to attend and dispose of knives in the surrender bin provided, with no questions asked.
Officers also spoke with residents passing by and gave out some crime prevention advice.
The event was one of several that are planned to take place over the coming months.
The volunteers of the Redcar RNLI lifeboat have been called into action in our area.
Just before 12.30 yesterday lunchtime the D Class lifeboat at Redcar was launched.
However the lifeboat was recalled a short time later as the incident was resolved.
The crew and lifeboat were then able to return to the lifeboat station at Redcar.
Residents are being reminded of changes to voting in elections in our area.
Polling cards for the upcoming elections in May have started to go out to residents throughout the borough and will include details of where you can go to vote.
Residents are being reminded that they will need to take photo ID with them when they go to vote.
If you don't have a photo ID you can apply online for a Voter Authority Certificate on the government website at www.gov.uk.
