Barclays Bank has announced that a 'pop up cashless banking site' will replace it's branch in Saltburn when it shuts its doors later this year.
A closure date has been confirmed for the Saltburn branch of the bank for June this year.
In its place will be a Barclays Local, described as a pop up cashless banking site where customers can meet staff face to face for banking support, at a location that is still to be decided.
Barclays says the reason for the closure of the busy Station Street branch is because the majority of customers use online banking.
The closure announcement means there will be no physical branch of Barclays bank in east Cleveland from Friday, June 30 when the doors shut at Saltburn. Loftus branch closed a few years ago, Guisborough's closed last September.
The nearest Barclays will now be at Redcar and Middlesbrough.
