Police are appealing for the public’s help after two motorbikes were reported stolen from a garage in Redcar.

It’s believed that a group of males - all with hoods up and one wearing a camouflage jacket - forced their way into the garage on Mersey Road at around 2.20am on Sunday 12th March and stole the two bikes and a helmet which are worth many thousands of pounds in total.

One bike is a white and orange Superduke and the off-road bike is an orange KGM 250 Enduro.

An off-roading helmet was also stolen; this is an open face type in bright green and yellow, with some blue flecks on it.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.

Police have arrested a man during a day of action to tackle drug activity in Netherfields.

The activity was part of the Force’s County Lines week which targeted organised crime groups that coerce children or vulnerable people into transporting, selling and/or storing illegal drugs or money.

Officers were made aware of addresses which were believed to be involved in the supply of controlled drugs in the local area.

Concerns were also raised about potential cuckooing - which is where vulnerable people are exploited by criminals who use their home as a base for dealing drugs.

A 48-year-old man was arrested and charged with three counts of theft.

He was also arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon and he has been released on bail pending further enquiries for these offences.

Cleveland Fire Brigade is asking everyone to take pride in where they live as the clampdown on deliberate fires continues.

It comes with community groups from across Cleveland joining the launch of the Brigade’s Let’s Get Fired Up About Arson spring campaign.

85% of all fire calls made to the Brigade are about deliberate fires – the highest in the country. The main targets are rubbish, grasslands and vehicles.
