Cleveland Police are continuing to ask the public to send in footage and images of off-road bikes being ridden illegally, dangerously and antisocially after another bike was seized on Friday.
Whilst on patrol on Friday morning, officers from Greater Eston Neighbourhood Teams seized an off-road bike which had been spotted riding around Normanby and Ormesby in an antisocial manner.
Drugs, cash and phones were also recovered and the 37-year-old man riding the bike was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class b drugs and driving offences.
Anyone who witnesses those riding antisocially on bikes and quads is asked to get in touch with police on the non-emergency number 101.
The volunteers of the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team have been called into action in our area.
At lunchtime on Sunday the team received a request from the North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust to go to the aid of a walker who had sustained a leg injury after falling on mud in Newton Wood, to the south of Roseberry Topping.
A passer-by who had remained with the casualty was able to provide information regarding the casualty’s condition and her location.
She was packaged inside a casualty bag to keep warm before being carried on a rescue stretcher for approximately 500-metres and then handed into the care of the waiting ambulance crew.
Redcar beach has now become accessible to anyone wanting to enjoy the coastline, regardless of their physical abilities, following to the Council’s acquisition of three new beach wheelchairs.
The Beach Wheels Redcar and Cleveland project, which was launched yesterday, was initiated as part of the Covid Recovery Plan, using a small amount from the Government’s Covid Recovery Fund.
The impact of the Covid pandemic on people’s mental health and wellbeing has highlighted the benefits of accessing all outdoor spaces, including the beautiful coastline in our area, for exercising and socialising.
There is a future ambition to expand the project to Saltburn and other beaches in Redcar and Cleveland, subject to funding and volunteer availability.
