Police have arrested two men on suspicion of rape following an incident inside a house in Middlesbrough.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning at a property on Bush Street in the town.

Officers say they believe that there was a party at the address in the early hours of Sunday, and are asking anyone who attended or who has information to contact Middlesbrough CID on the non-emergency number 101.

Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A man has been arrested after a suspected stolen car reportedly failed to stop for police and later crashed in Middlesbrough.

Officers descended on Ayresome Street in Linthorpe, at its junction with Chester Street, after a Ford Fiesta was involved in crash.

The vehicle reportedly failed to stop for police prior to the crash.

A 24-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and was taken into police custody.

The force has confirmed that nobody was injured during the ordeal.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council are asking residents for their opinions on local library services.

Focus group sessions are being held to give residents the opportunity to ask questions about library services, talk about what the library means and what services should be offered in future.

The next sessions are being held this coming Monday, at Guisborough Library between 10 and 11am, and Redcar Library between 1 and 2pm.

Spaces are very limited, so if you would like to attend you should ask a member of staff in one of the libraries, or call the Contact Centre on 01642 774774.
