The mother of a man who has been missing from our area for five weeks is appealing for her son to return home.
38-year-old Peter Edwards from Great Ayton was last seen walking at the side of Asda at Skelton Retail Park at 5:42pm on Saturday 22nd October and he hasn't been seen by his family since.
Peter is believed to have travelled in a BMW before parking at the Longacre Pub, located just opposite the supermarket.
The car, which was marked with a registration plate beginning YG56, was recovered on Tuesday, November 1.
Peter's mother, Marilyn Edwards, says that it is very unusual for Peter not to be in contact for this long:
Police have issued an appeal for information after an early morning robbery at a store in Eston.
Two men, armed with weapons, entered Sainsbury's store at Bankfields just before 6.20am yesterdat and stole cigarettes and alcohol, before leaving in the direction of Woodcock Close.
One of the men is described as wearing a blue hoody with a stripe down the arm, and dark blue bottoms.
The other is described as wearing light denim jeans and a grey and yellow waterproof jacket.
The two staff members were not physically harmed but they were left extremely shaken.

Police are appealing for information and any dashcam footage following a collision on Saltburn Road just outside Brotton on Monday.
At 1.05pm a Vauxhall Corsa travelling up Saltburn Road from Saltburn was in collision with an Arriva bus travelling down Saltburn Road from Brotton.
The Corsa rolled onto its roof and the 40-year-old man driving it sustained what are believed to be serious injuries.
An elderly man - in his late 70s - who was a passenger on the bus was also taken to hospital to be checked over.
The road was closed for several hours to allow vehicle recoveries and for collision investigation work to begin before re-opening at around 5pm.
