Police are appealing for information and any dashcam footage from motorists after a cyclist was pushed from his bicycle by someone in a passing vehicle.

At around 6.35pm on Monday evening, the man, who is in his 40s, was on Kirkleatham Lane, between the roundabout at Coatham Road, riding towards the car garages at the crossroad with the Trunk Road.

He had just passed over the railway bridge when a vehicle drove past him and an unknown person inside the vehicle pushed him off his bike and into some bushes, causing minor injuries.

Several motorists stopped to help the cyclist however no details were obtained from these people at the time.

Officers are appealing for these drivers and anyone else with information to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.

Residents have been advised not to attend a waste disposal facility in our area at the weekend due to problems with it's booking system.

Over the weekends the booking system for Dunsdale tip was unavailable and we are unable to accept any new tip appointments.

Residents who have already booked their appointment can still attend but please do not turn up to the tip without an appointment.

Please ensure you bring your booking confirmation with you.

We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank residents for their patience while this is resolved.

As the World Cup kicks off and Christmas approaches, Cleveland Police have announced that they will be carrying out enforcement activity and intelligence-led checks on drivers to ensure that people aren't risking lives by getting behind the wheel whilst under the influence.

The message is simple, please don't take the risk....organise a lift, taxi or make other arrangements.

Officers are also reminding the public that alcohol and drugs can also stay in your system for extended periods of time, so whilst you might feel OK to drive the next day, it might not be safe to do so.
