A man has been taken to hospital with head injuries following an incident in Redcar.
Officers from Cleveland Police were called to Station Road, close to the sea front in Redcar, after receiving reports of an incident during the night yesterday.
A man in his 40s had sustained injuries to his head, face and back.
His injuries are not currently believed to be life threatening but he has since received hospital treatment following the incident.

Police have issued a 48-hour dispersal order in part of our area in a bid to clamp down on anti-social behaviour.
The order came into force yesterday in the Hemlington area of Middlesbrough.
Cleveland Police say that they have decided to take the action due to recent reports of anti-social behaviour.
The order is part of Operation Fortress, which is aimed at reducing crime and antisocial behaviour in the Hemlington area.
The affected area surrounds the Viewley Centre and runs from the junction of Blue Bell Beck at Cass House Road across to Hemlington Road, then to the rear of Viewley Centre Road behind the Post Office, St Timothy’s Church and behind Coatham Close.
Officers will be conducting regular patrols and, as part of their dispersal order legislation, can disperse large groups of youths from the area and arrest them if they return within a 24 hour period.
A local businessman and grandad from Redcar is hoping to break a Guiness World Record today for the longest single-event triathlon.
Steven Green is swimming 7 miles, cycling 181 miles and running 45 miles in one stint, taking approximately 30 hours, all in aid of raising money to support mental health charities within our area.
Steven began the swim at 6am yesterday, and also completed the cycle ride overnight.
He's now undertaking the running part of the challenge, completing laps of Redcar this morning.
Steven is due to cross the finish line at 'Tuned In' in Redcar sometime between midday and 3pm today.
