Cleveland Police are investigating after receiving a number of reports of a large group of people riding off-road bikes in an antisocial manner in both Redcar and Middlesbrough yesterday afternoon.

Officers say that they attended the scenes of the incidents and will be taking appropriate action wherever possible.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of those riding off-road bikes illegally or anyone who may be storing off-road bikes is asked to call Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.

Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Officers are appealing for witnesses, CCTV and dash cam footage after a serious collision in our area.

The incident occurred on the A173 near Pinchinthorpe Hall, Guisborough, around 8:40pm on Friday, and involved a red Volkswagen Golf and a black and grey Austin Mini.

The 28-year-old male driver of the Austin Mini was taken to James Cook University Hospital with serious injuries and he remains there whilst receiving treatment.

The 19-year-old male driver of the Golf was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and was taken into police custody.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the collision and anyone with CCTV, dash cam footage or mobile phone footage of the collision or the manner of driving of the Volkswagen Golf prior to the collision.

Anyone with information can contact Sergeant Sara Allison on 101.

Police are appealing to trace a couple who became concerned for a woman’s welfare and stopped their vehicle to check on her at the weekend.

The woman was on Wilton Lane in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The couple, who were possibly driving a silver vehicle, then kindly ensured that the woman arrived home safely in the Redcar area.

Officers would like to appeal to the couple to come forward as they would like to speak to them about an ongoing inquiry.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
