The volunteer crews of the Redcar RNLI lifeboats were called into action in our area at the weekend.

Just after ten to four yesterday afternoon both lifeboats were launched to help search for a missing child at Redcar.

A short time later the incident was resolved by the coastguard.

RNLI advice is to remember to supervise children when playing on the beach.

You should agree a meeting point in case of separation and let all searchers know once the child has been found.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision at the A66 junction with Normanby Road in South Bank.

The collision happened around 11:40pm on Saturday 2nd July, involving a red Audi A4 and a Vauxhall Astra.

A 32-year-old woman, a 12-year-old boy and a second female suffered injuries as a result of the collision and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Any witnesses are asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.

The volunteers of the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team have been called into action twice in the past few days.

Shortly before 9am on Friday the team were contacted by the Yorkshire Ambulance Serviceregarding a report of a woman who had sustained a lower leg injury whilst walking in Newton Wood, below Roseberry Topping.

Team members carried her approximately 600-metres back along the path to the waiting ambulance for onward transport to hospital.

The second call-out came from North Yorkshire Police who had received a report from a passer-by regarding concerns for a man with possible leg injuries.

It was reported that he appeared to be stuck on the cliffside below the Cleveland Way path, north of Sandsend.

One of the Team members soon located the man who had just managed to make it to the top of the cliff and onto the path.

They were quickly joined by a Coastguard team who were able to render assistance to the man and at that point he was left in their care for further assessment and treatment as required.
