999 crews have been searching the sea off Teesside after reports of a missing person.

The Coastguard and RNLI crews were called by an emergency caller at 4pm yesterday afternoon, reporting a person missing and possibly in the sea.

The Hartlepool RNLI all-weather lifeboat and the inshore lifeboat were among the vessels launched.

At 4.40pm one of the vessels, the inshore lifeboat, was in the area around North Gare, while the others hunted towards Seaton Carew. 

Further details of the incident have not yet been made available.

 

Officers are appealing for witnesses and information after a van was stolen in a burglary in Nunthorpe.

The incident happened around 11:20pm on Thursday on The Crescent.

The grey Vauxhall combo van with a 70 registration plate was located along Bromley Hill Close in Nunthorpe.

Two teenage boys have been arrested in connection with the incident and they were taken into police custody.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Redcar & Cleveland CID on 101.

 

A talented artist has unveiled a beautiful and colourful mural depicting memories and images symbolic with Eston.

Eston Remembrance Committee have worked with committee member and local artist, Phil Meadows, to create the mural in Eston Square, on the theme of 'Eston Remembers'.

The artist consulted with the local community to create a collaboration of some of the most popular ideas and proudest memories.

The impressive painting took 90 hours to complete.
