Marske United suffered a second successive abandonment with the floodlights to blame on Saturday.

The Seasiders were 5-0 up away to Fishburn Park on Wednesday night with six minutes remaining of their North Riding Senior Cup tie. However, a broken leg for midfielder Fred Woodhouse saw the game called off and there was another premature finish at the weekend.

As Carl Jarrett's men returned to Northern League First Division action, they led Consett by a Danny Brunskill goal to nil, with 21 minutes left. However, the Mount Pleasant lights weren't playing ball and promptly failed. The match will be replayed later in the season.
