Guisborough defeated nearby Norton and Stockton by a single goal in the Northern League Cup on Wednesday night.

By Guisborough Town manager Chris Hardy

Last night's game had banana skin written all over it, with Norton flying high in their division, coupled with the fact we had to deal with a very difficult playing surface, meaning full concentration and commitment levels were required in order for us to get anything from this tie.

Winning the game 1.0 on the night proved to be a positive result and giving the fact we have created 26 scoring opportunities against our opponents this I feel gives a better perspective of how the game panned out over the 90 minutes.
