Police are appealing for information after a man received serious injuries after being assaulted by a group of at least four other men.
It happened on Friday at around 11pm near the junction of Shinwell Crescent and Maxton Road in South Bank.
The victim, a man in his 30s, was attacked by the group, one of whom was wearing a high-visibility vest.
It is believed the suspects were in a dark coloured vehicle and that a weapon was used during the assault.
Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.

A 19 year old clubber was heading out of The Empire at around 2am on Sunday when he felt a sharp pain in his back from an unknown source.
The victim was taken to James Cook University Hospital where his condition was described as 'poorly but stable.'
Three individuals were arrested on suspicion of assault following the alleged incident and were questioned as police continue their enquiries.
The force have reiterated that this is not being treated as a spiking incident.

The event, which was last held in 2019 due to lockdown, took place yesterday evening at the Masonic Hall in Middlesbrough, with representatives from charities and organisations from across Teesside receiving money which has been raised in the past two years.
Guest of honour at the event was Provincial Grand Master Jeffrey Gillyon, who told Zetland FM more about the event.
